EAST LANSING -- George Hamblin felt like his team was simply out-wrestled Friday night against St. Johns.

It showed in the final score, as the Red Wings picked up a 40-21 victory over Richmond at Michigan State University. The meet preceded a dual between Michigan State and Minnesota.

St. Johns, which is ranked No. 4 in Division 2, won three matches that were decided by two points or less to pick up the victory over the Blue Devils, who are No. 1 in Division 3.

It's the second straight loss for Richmond, which fell to Dundee Jan. 17 at the Super Duals in Bay City.

Casey Martin picked up a pin for the Blue Devils at 125, while Preston Treend won by technical fall at 135. Justin Russo (130) won a major decision, while Brian Henke (140) and Dakota Boldrey (171) each won decisions.

Richmond fell behind 17-0 before Martin's win. St. Johns clinched the win with a pin at 189.

Richmond returns to action today at Stevensville-Lakeshore.
